There's a reason things come apart when they start going well — and it isn't that you don't want it enough.
Does any of this sound familiar?
✓Every time things start going well, you find a way to pull them back.
✓You can't enjoy the good weeks. You get through them.
✓You get ninety per cent of the way there and stop without deciding to.
✓You do the thing you promised yourself you'd stop doing. Same night, every time.
✓You put off what matters most, and stay busy with what doesn't.
✓Compliments slide off. Goals shrink as they get close.
✓When everything is fine, you're waiting for something to go wrong.
If any of that sounds like you, it isn't laziness and there's nothing wrong with you.

What's actually going on
Somewhere early on — and for good reasons — being small was safer than being seen. Maybe attention wasn't safe. Maybe wanting something out loud got it taken away. Maybe the house was calm right up until it wasn't, so calm itself started to feel like the bit before.
A rule got written: good things don't last, and being out in the open is dangerous. It kept you safe then. It's still running now.
So you don't have a self-destructive part. You have an out-of-date protector, still doing a job nobody told it to stop doing.
It's not your fault. Nobody showed you another way.
Why the usual advice fails
Want it more. Be more disciplined. Get out of your own way.
Every one of those aims at willpower, and willpower was never the missing piece. You're running two programmes at once, and pushing harder on one makes the other push back.
You can't argue an old rule out of existence either. It wasn't written with arguments and it doesn't answer to them. What it answers to is repeated evidence that things are different now — and that has to be felt rather than reasoned.
What's inside
✓The Part That Pulls the Plug(written guide, six pages) — what the pulling-back is actually for, in plain language. About ten minutes to read.
✓Infinite Possibilities(recorded practice, 18 minutes) — for opening back up when everything in you wants to shrink. Nothing to learn first.
✓The Healing Power of Emotions(recorded practice, 17 minutes) — the one for the moment you'd normally reach for a distraction.
✓The pattern map(printable) — four questions for the moment you reach for the brake.
✓The letting-go card(printable) — six lines to read once a day, for the week after you've seen the pattern.

What people say
This one is new, so I'm not going to show you reviews of it. What I can show you is what people say about the practices inside it, and about the sessions I run every week. These arrived unprompted — names changed.
“I slept really well last night after the meditation on Monday. Woke up and felt good and positive about today.” Helen R.
“Felt very grounded and at peace. Stay blessed.” Anita S.
“Very relaxing. I am benefiting a lot from these sessions.” Claire T.
“Feeling nice and calm.” Jo M.
What to expect
Not a personality transplant, and not sudden ambition.
What changes first is that you catch it happening. The reach for the brake stops being invisible — you see it in the moment rather than three weeks later, wondering what went wrong.
Then one time you notice it and don't follow it. That's the whole shift, and it's smaller than you'd expect.
It comes and goes. You'll have a good month and then pull something back anyway. That isn't a relapse and it doesn't undo anything.
My year-long promise
Use all of it. Take a year over it if you like.
If the guide doesn't show you what the pulling-back is actually for — if the practices don't give you somewhere real to start — reply to your receipt any time in the next 365 days and I'll send your £7 back. You keep the guides.
No questions. I'd rather do that than have you sitting on something that didn't help.
Who I am
I'm Adam. I spent years getting most of the way towards things and then finding a reason to stop, and longer still believing that was a discipline problem. It wasn't. What changed it came from the body and from looking at what the pattern was protecting, not from wanting it more. Now I spend my time helping people do the same: through practices like these, a free session I run every week, and one-to-one work.
Questions, answered
How do I listen?
On any phone, tablet or computer — streamed or downloaded to keep. Nothing to install.
When will I get it?
Straight away. Your access link arrives by email the moment you order.
Is this just going to tell me to want it more?
No. Wanting it more is the advice that has already failed you, and it failed for a reason. This starts from what the pattern is protecting you from.
I've started things like this before and stopped.
I know. That's rather the point, and it isn't held against you here. There's no streak to keep and nothing to fall behind on — if you use one practice and nothing else, that counts.
What if it isn't for me?
Then reply to your receipt within 365 days and I'll refund you. You keep the guides.

One more thing
You are not lazy, and you have never been short of will — look at what you already carry.
What you have is a part of you that learned, a long time ago and for good reasons, that being small was safer than being seen. It has been doing that job ever since without being asked. It is allowed to stand down. And you are allowed to keep the good things.
That starts with one ordinary evening, and about eighteen minutes.
