The Way Home · Live online with Adam Palmer · Doors open 14 September
You’ve read the books. You’ve done the therapy - maybe years of it. You can explain your own patterns better than most people ever could. And you’re still doing them: the same arguments, the same triggers, the same symptoms and tension in your body, the same yes that should have been a no.
I know it because I lived it. Therapy, positive thinking, happy affirmations, the gym, a shelf of self help books and notes. Everything helped for a bit, but I kept coming back to the same place - and I started to believe the problem was me.
The real breakthrough came once I realised that everything I had tried was working on my thoughts, and the problem never lived there. It lived in my body and nervous system, and that’s not something you can think your way out of.
The constant overthinking, overwhelm, negative inner voice, muscle tension and rigidity, low self esteem, triggers and reactions - that’s exactly what a body stuck on guard does.
You can understand all of it perfectly and nothing changes - because the understanding happens in your head, and the reaction is happening in your body.
This is what we work on inside The Way Home: live, guided sessions that go to where the pain actually lives and let it release.
What people say
Sound familiar?
These look like eight different problems. They are one thing - a body that learned to stay on guard - showing up in your relationships, your evenings, your sleep and your work.
The real reason
Your body is doing exactly what it learned to do. At some point - probably long before you were old enough to choose - staying on guard was the safest thing available. So it learned to stay on guard, and it has done that job so reliably, for so long, it now treats calm and quiet as uncomfortable, and stress and chaos as normal.
That is not weakness, and it is not your personality. It is a body that never got the message that the danger is over - and that’s something that it can learn.
Why nothing stuck
I’m not against therapy. It helped me, and it helps many of the people I work with. But talking and this work reach different places.
The pain you are describing doesn’t live in the story. It lives in the body and nervous system, underneath words, where it was put by things that happened - often a long time ago.
You cannot talk it out of a body, and you cannot think it out either. It has to be released from where it is held. That is the work of The Integration Process.
What a session looks like
Camera on or off. Lie down or sit comfortably. Nothing to prepare.
Deep relaxation, trancework, hypnosis, body-based release
Beneath the surface of the story, to the part of you still holding on - and we let it go, one step at a time.
Some sessions are quiet and relaxing. Some are emotional and bring up a lot. Every one of them works on the root of the pain, not the symptoms - which is why, over the weeks, the patterns loosen in a way that understanding never managed.
My story
For years I was the calm one - the person everyone described as laid back. What I called healthy was running on adrenaline, stress and caffeine: long days in front of a screen, waking up anxious, a voice in my head that criticised everything I did, half a dozen unhealthy habits and addictions, and painful and overwhelming relationships.
I’d had years of therapy. I could explain it all - but none of that actually changed anything. What healed me was learning to release it from my body, where all of it was actually stored - not overnight, and not by magic. Session by session, over time.
These days:
The Way Home is the exact work that got me here, done live, with you.
